The crusades. Will

The crusades happened for over 200 hundred years. There were around 4 crusades commissioned by the popes. A crusade is a holy war against infidels, or nonbelievers.

The first crusade was called in 1092. The pope wanted the city of Jerusalem, and power. He saw this as a great advantage to gain power, and also kill infidels.

The army was in the command of  very good generals/strategists, whose namee's areGodfery, and Baldwin. The army marched over 3000 miles to get to Jerusalem. They killed any Muslims they came across throughout their travels. They even ate the bodies of some of them at a city of which I can not remember. They got to Jerusalem, and it was a tough battle/siege. Godfrey finally found a weakness in the wall, and ordered his catapults to tear it down. They succeeded, and captured the city. However, they would soon lose the city for the rest of time. The other crusades never worked, and eventually fizzled out to nothin. The later crusades were more for personal gain, than religious reasons. The west never admitted failure. In a way, some wars being fought today are a type of crusade.

The 3rd crusade had 3 historic figures/generals in it. They were richard the Lionheart, King Phillip of France, and the Muslim general Saladin. Saladin was the general of the Muslims. He recapttured the city of Jerusalem for the crusaders. This is what started the 3rd Crusade. The pope ordered an army of crusaders to recapture the city. Richard , and Phillip, both went to the city. They never could recapture it. Thus, ended the 3rd crusade.

Their were a group of knights called the Knights Templar. They supposedly found the treasure, and the Holy Grail, in the Temple of Solomon. They had grown drastically in their power, both in military might, and political power. The Pope did not like this, so he ordered the Templars to be put to the sword. The legend goes they escaped, and have hidden their treasure, including the Grail, somewhere in the world, and is still out there today.

Abrahamic Religion's Will

There are 3 religions who follow Abraham. They are Christianity, Islam, and Judaism. These religions are very similiar to one another.

& The three religions all beileive that Abraham was the fore-father of their religion. Islam  beileives that Muhammed was a man who had a vision form God, and Gabriel the angel told him god's word. He then went to a city, called Mecca, and preached the word throughout the city. He was kicked out, and went to another city. He became the leader, and went and conquered Mecca. He then spoke them word around throughout his age.
Christians beileive that Jesus was the messiah, and came after Abraham, and when he died on the cross to forgive us of our sins. The Jews believe that Jesus was only a a good man, not the son of god. They believe that the messiah has yet to come, and are still waiting for him to come to earth. They are all similar because they trace their lineage back to Abraham.

Questions for the Muslim man coming in. Will

     1. How is the Qur'an similar, or not similiar to the Bible.
     2. Have you gone to Mecca yet?
     3. Why do You go to the Mosque on Friday, instead of sunday's?
     4. What do you think about Jesus Christ?
     5. Why do you follow Muhammed's  following's?

I want to know the answers to these question's, because I think these would be interesting answers. It would be very cool to know these answers.

What is relgion

Religion is the faith in a god, gods or no gods. It is your own choice whether or not you want to follow a religion. The 3 biggest religions are Judaism, Muslim, and Christianity. They all follow the Abraham way.

Christianity, and Judaism are very close in their relation. The Jews beileive that Jesus was only a good man, and when he died on the cross, they mourned him. They do not beileive he was the Messiah. They beileive that the Messiah has yet to come, and will in the future.

Christians beileive that Jesus was the Messiah of God. They beileive that Jesus was the son of God, and that he did all of the miracles because he was the son of God. They beileive that when he died on the cross, he went to Heaven. This is the split between the Jewsish, and Christian faith's.
